Approved excerpt from the Professional Board for Therapeutic Aromatherapy, Therapeutic Reflexology and Therapeutic Massage Therapy draft minutes of the meeting held on 07 March 2011: Item 17

  1. First time applicants with qualifications of less than two years prior to 31 December 2004 would not be considered for a review; they would need to upgrade or renew their qualification;
  2. First time applicants with qualifications of two years duration prior to 31 December 2004 must be submitted to the Professional Board for a paper based evaluation; the final decision of whether the applicant may be invited to a review would be decided by the Professional Board;
  3. Applicants who were approved to write the CRE but never did, may be invited to a review;
  4. Applicants who wrote the CRE and failed may be invited to a review, however the CRE rules state that applicants could only write three (3) times in total (1 write and 2 re-writes), therefore an applicant who had failed three (3) times would not be approved for a review;
  5. Applicants with qualifications older than five years to have paper based assessment by the Professional Board for a decision regarding a decision to an invitation for a review;
  6. Applicants who were originally not approved for registration, would not be reviewed;
  7. Applicants from non DoH/CHE compliant schools are excluded from reviews unless the qualification was received before the school compliancy cut off date, (2008 with a teach out period ending 2009); these applicants to have a paper based Professional Board assessment for a decision for a review;
  8. Persons with full registration who deregistered voluntarily or were deregistered for non-payment of fees, could be reregistered even if their qualification was less than two years, but a person requesting restoration to the register after a period of five years would be subject to a peer review, as per PBARM minutes 2/2010; and
  9. Those persons who did not complete their requirements for full registration and deregistered voluntarily, or were deregistered for non-payment of fees while still temporarily registered, would not be given a review and must be referred for assessment evaluation for possible RPL credits.

PBARM decided further that any applicants with situations different to those defined by the Professional Board would be subject to the Professional Board's decision.
PBARM noted further that CHE accredited providers could not give prior learning credits to graduates from illegal providers.
